Day 8 - Florence

For breakfast we decided to have it at the hotel, which turned out to be a great idea, as the breakfast was delicious. The crossant was the best I've has so far, it was so fresh and it had a really light glaze, it was TD4!! I also thought the yoghurt was super cute in a little jar and I loved that there was fresh fruit!!

We got driven to the airport by a female cab driver, which we all found quite odd as it isn't something you'd see in sydney! You go girl!!!! Florence is absolutely divine, definitely my kind of town, it has culture, art and scenery! The view outside our room is simply amazing, I feel like I'm in a movie haha!

For lunch I had ravioli filled with spinach and ricotta, topped with sage sauce!

There is a Gelati on every corner and I have never seen so many pizzerias in my life haha! Our apartment is a stone throw away from "Duomo di Firenze" (the cathedral of Florence). It was built between 1296 and 1436. The cathedral is one of the largest in the world. Its imposing dome, attributed to the Florentine architect Filippo Brunelleschi, still dominates the city.

We walked the streets of Florence to find the perfect Gelati (there were 100s to choose from which made it very difficult), our host recommended one near Fiume Arno (which is the main river in the Tuscany region). I got apricot flavored, the perfect ice cold treat to combat the city's 30 degree weather.

For dinner I decided to avoid the carbs, and went for grilled salmon which was actually delicious and a nice change from the pizza and pasta overload haha!

After dinner we had the best Pino Gregio everrrr! The restaurant was beautiful and tucked away into a narrow street.
