Day 4 - San Sebastián

Despite the rainy weather we thought we'd venture out and climb to the shelter of Mount Urgull. The 12th century Castillo de la Mota standing at the top of the hill was key in defending the city, and around it you can still see the canons and arrow slits used to defend it. Guarding the city from the top of Monte Urgull, the Sacred Heart statue (Cristo de la Mota) blends with the landscape of San Sebastián. The work, sculpted by the artist Federico Coullaut in 1950, measures over 12 metres in height and can be seen from 4 miles out to sea. As we were walking up the mountain the view of the city kept getting more amazing, suddenly we forgot how cold and rainy it was haha!

After the climb we headed to a local cafe for some hot chocolate and fresh pastries. Spanish hot chocolate is very strong we had to make sure we asked for it "con leche" (with milk) even then it was still quite dark. Definitely going to put on a couple of kilos after this trip haha!

Then we headed to the largest Zara in Europe and I got a black cardigan, Chiara and Alise got some summer clothes too! I also grabbed some clothes and shoes from H&M all for under 30€! However Alise and I accidentally bought the same top from H&M which was trés awkward hahaha!

For dinner we decided to have it at home to save cash. We bought the ingredients for a pasta meal, however we didn't realise till we got home that we had no pots :/, which meant we had to cook the pasta in the microwave...funnily enough it worked though! We hit the town after dinner, there wasn't much happening on a Wednesday night though we found a cool spot called "Bar Iguana." The drink sizes here are huge, and it's funny because they serve vodka cokes in giant wine glasses.
