On our first night in Paros, we went to a restaurant to try a traditional Paros Platter. It consisted of four different courses. The first course was a seafood platter, my favourite piece on the plate was the mussels with a chilli, tomato salsa.
The second course consisted of cannelloni, risotto and a prawn.
The third was snapper, chicken with a mustard sauce and baked potatoes. The final was dessert which was Icecream and caramel. The restaurant was in the most beautifully, quiet location, when we arrived we watched the sun set over the water, it was exquisite.
Later in the night we participated in a plate smashing activity, which is a Greek tradition. My tour guide explained that thousands of years ago there was a gap between rich and poor. Rich people used to see themselves as more worthy than those with a lower income status, and to prove this when they were done with a meal they'd smash the plate on the floor. To convey the idea that it was just a plate, and means nothing to someone with money. Plate smashing is a actually outlawed in Greece now, so we were fortunate to find a place where we could take part in such an odd tradition!!
Yesterday we went sailing around Paros to Anti Paros. The sun was out and there was a slight breeze, it was the perfect weather for a boat day. The first stop we made was amazing, the water was a translucent, aqua colour, we swam out to a large cave, the rocks were huge! The water was so salty, you could only put your head under a few times, but it did mean you could float really easily.
The last place we stopped at was my favourite, the water was the most pristine I've ever seen, it looked like a postcard. It was so hot by this point that everyone felt they had to jump in, no one wanted to miss the opportunity to swim in such a gorgeous location. There were only a couple of boats around us, it was not a touristy area at all, it was perfect!

Wow what a beautiful place! Please don't try the plate smashing when you get home.
