Day 17 - 19: Mykonos

The reason I haven't been writing as frequently as I used to is because the Greek Islands is quite different to all the other places I have been too. I am currently on a Contiki Tour, "The Greek Islander Adventure." The tour sees us visit three islands (Mykonos, Paros and Santorini) and Athens. I have just arrived in Paros after spending the last couple of days in Mykonos. My two days in Mykonos basically consisted of party, party and more party. Mykonos is known for being a party island, people come all across the world to visit the famous "Paradise Beach." The town of Mykonos is beautiful, though unfortunately we didn't spend much time there, as we didn't wake up till quite late each day... We did however visit the Windmills, Mykonos translates to "Windy City" and it is known for it's big winds. Funnily enough the windmills don't actually do anything like power parts of the city, they're just there for effect. The streets of Mykonos are exquisite, the white everywhere is what makes the Greek Islands so unique, the Greeks, by law have to stick to a particular design of white buildings with flat roofs.

Yesterday we went to the "Paradise Beach Party" at Club Tropicana. Needless to say it was a party experience like no other. A group of us ordered a drink out of a giant watermelon, we saw people with giant $600 bottles of Belvedere Vodka and Moet was constantly being sprayed everywhere! People were dancing on tables, chairs, bar tops and podiums. There were deck chairs out as the club was literally right on the beach, you could go for a swim, lay in the sun for half an hour then go order a mojito from the bar. When the club peaked there were about 4000-5000 people there. It was insane!
