I love Venice, I love Venice and I think I'll say it one more time, I love Venice. Chiara was telling me that according to a Huffington post article out of all the cities in the world Venice is the number one "must see" tourist destination, I can definitely see why. I have not yet seen one car, truck or motorbike; the canals are the city. The (water) taxis are beautiful and operated by James Bond look-a-likes, gondolas glide by with people singing italian operas or playing accordions and speed boats hurry past with men dressed in tuxedos and women in Gucci. I'm half expecting to see Angelina Jolie or Johnny Depp, sipping on a cocktail outside the San Marco Piazza...
San Marco Piazza was absolutely crazy today, it was tourist central!! Which was super annoying as it meant we couldn't spend long there before the crowds started to really frustrate us. The worst thing was definitely the pigeons. People were feeding the pigeons, to the point where so many would flock that they were landing on people. They were even landing on little children, it was so disgusting. So we decided to take our photos and leave the main area haha! I did love the murals on Saint Mark's Basilica, particularly the golden background and the immense detail in each work.
One of the things I really enjoy about being on holidays is being able to have a drink whenever you're in the mood, we chose to stop by a small wine bar before heading to the supermarket haha. I grabbed a sparkling wine, Alise got a Corona and Chiara went w my suggestion and got a Bellini (which she thoroughly enjoyed!) They gave us these small, savoury italian pastries w the drinks, topped w tomato and basil, mmmm they were delish!!!
Before dinner we decided to take advantage of the sunny weather and head down to the pier outside our apartment. We grabbed our 3€ wine and some snacks and made our way down. Sitting so close to the water was the best idea ever, it was so relaxing and I loved watching the gondolas and boats go by. There was a cool breeze, but we were still able to bask in the sun, it was heaven. All the people going by in the crowded water buses were clearly envious of us haha! Definitely one of my favourite moments of the whole trip!

Wow. Looks fantastic. Great that you got to drink in all the atmosphere, good weather and sites along with the EUR3 bottle of vino! Belissimo!
