Day 2 - Barcelona

Today we woke up at 8am, had breakfast then ventured out to absorb the city. We started the morning at Sagrada Familia, another one of Gaudi's masterpieces, though it's still in construction. When asked when he would finish it, Gaudi replied "well it doesn't matter, god has no time limit." Unfortunately we were only able to see the outside of the church as the line was ridiculously (and I mean ridiculously) long, I have never seen anything like it. However the church outside was out-of-this-world incredible, I was amazed at the detail and his subtle use of colour.

Then we caught the metro and went to explore the "Barrigotic" area which translates to "Gothic" area. I love the narrow streets they're so vintage and mysterious haha! We also found another beautiful church, however we were chased around by a "headless" man which was a slight buzz kill lol.

We then thought we'd pay a visit to Plaça  Reial and grab some tapas for lunch (after we saw on insta that the model, Jessica Stein has just visited there haha). I loved the pink mojitos and crispy potato tapas!

For dinner we went to Granja Petit Bo. I had a freshly squeezed kiwi, apple and lemon juice, we've noticed that most of the juice in Barcelona is freshly squeezed which is a refreshing change from sydney haha! I also had wonderfully cooked lasagne with fresh sourdough bread, the lasagne was quite different to what I'm used to as it had 4 different cheeses, part of it was quite similar to a soup and it had eggplant (But I think I still prefer my mum's lasagne haha)

We headed to the terrace bar on top of Hotel 1898, yes it was a four star hotel and no we weren't guests...needless to say we felt pretty posh being there! We were lying on an outdoor bed sipping on cocktails haha. Definitely a rooftop with a view!!
