Day 1 - Barcelona

My European adventure has finally begun! I met up with Alise and Chiara in Barcelona this afternoon. After spending 22 + hours on planes, I'm exhausted but forcing myself to stay awake, but oh boy I'm feeling jet lagged. The hostel we're staying at in barca is super nice. It's very clean, breakfast is included, there are computers and most importantly - there's free wifi (Mecca for any traveller on a budget). We have just come back from visiting the Gaudi house, which was a pretty surreal experience, I've never really seen anything like it.

Barcelona is a beautiful city,
the large commercial spaces act as a contrast to the more traditional forms of architecture.

Chiara, Alise and I were just discussing how strange it is that it is so light at 8pm at night, it feels like it's 3pm! Apparently it stays this light till 10pm. On the bright (no pun intended...) side it helps with the jet lag haha! We're planning on having an early night tonight so we're just going to go round the block to an italian restaurant, I really just feel like something fresh and simple - so over plane food!
